Research Interests

Sustainable manufacturing, predictive product realization, fundamental methods for complex systems, and interdisciplinary research organizational models.

 

Dr. Delcie Durham is the Associate Provost for Research and Dean of the USF Graduate School. She brings 25 years of higher education and research experience to USF where she leads the Graduate School’s efforts to provide graduate educational programs that prepare students who will be making significant and transformational contributions to the social, cultural, economic, health and technological development needs for local to global solutions.

Previously, Dr. Durham served as a program director for engineering design and materials processing and manufacturing at the National Science Foundation. As a program director, she was responsible for managing multi-million dollar budgets, establishing new research directions with the research community, coordinating with other agencies to provide funding for multidisciplinary and thematic awards and assessing outcomes of the ongoing research.

Prior to her NSF experience, Dr. Durham was Dean of the Graduate College of the University of Vermont, overseeing the master’s degree and doctoral programs across the university. Under her leadership, the college focused on three key areas: creating an environment for scholarly excellence, providing avenues for interdisciplinary research and education and streamlining the college’s policies and procedures. Dr. Durham is a full professor in the USF Department of Mechanical Engineering.
