COURSES

For working engineering professionals, most of the graduate classes are being offered in the evening, while a few are offered late afternoons.  We have offered 28 different departmental courses in the last five years.

You can now receive a MS or MME degree by taking all courses during the evening.  We offer PhD in Mechanical Engineering (see all degrees offered).

For a MS degree, you need to take

  • 8 courses + 6 hours of thesis to receive a degree in MSME (Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering), or

  • 11 courses to finish the degree in MME (Master of Mechanical Engineering), or

  • 6 courses + thesis for a the degree in MSME (Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering) under the 5-year program (details).

You are allowed to take two courses (only one if independent study course is taken) outside of the department with advisor approval.

Graduate course schedules are subject to change due to hiring of new faculty, sabbaticals taken by faculty, and migration of faculty to other areas to conduct state-of-art research.

Here is a list of courses that were offered in 2003-08.  This will give you a better idea of courses offered, and future offerings.

See alternative view of courses by name.
