RESEARCH The faculty and students of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at USF are committed to conducting research as a means of improving society, increasing the nations prosperity, and maintaining up-to-date teaching instruction.
The faculty are constantly involved
in externally and internally funded research activities. Our main areas of research include - Biosensors, Biofluids, Biomedical Engineering, Composite Materials and Solid Mechanics; System Dynamics and Vibrations; Mechanical Design; Engineering Education Research; Fluid Dynamics; Thermal Energy Systems; Microelectronic Device Thermal Management; Clean Energy Technologies; Micro and nano scale materials, systems and analysis, MEMS; Robotics; Rehabilitation Engineering Research to Aid Persons with Disabilities. Grants and research contracts sponsors include federal sources, state and local agencies, and industry.
